The components of the rain gun irrigation system are the accessories used in a typical rain gun irrigation system.

The rain gun irrigation system will not work smoothly if all the components are not assembled together.

The components of the rain gun irrigation system include the rain gun, main line or hose, submain hose, rain gun connectors, tees and elbows, filters and valves etc.

The following are the components of a rain gun irrigation system:

1) Rain Gun

The rain gun is a type of sprinkler that sprays droplets of water to plants whilst rotating around. There are plastic rain guns, metal rain guns and allow rain gun sprinklers.

The rain gun is one of the most important components of the rain gun. Without the rain gun, the irrigation system cannot work properly.

2) Main Line

The main line is the hose or pipe that brings water from the main source of water. The main line is usually a PVC pipe, hose, plastic pipe or iron pipe. The rain gun can be connected directly to the main line.

3) Submain Line (Layflat Hose)

The submain line is the hose that connects directly to the main line. The rain gun can also be connected directly to the submain line. The submain line can be a hose (lay flat hose) or a PVC pipe.

4) Rain Gun Connectors

The rain gun connectors are the irrigation accessories used for the connection of the rain gun sprinkler to the main line or submain line. The connectors ensure that the rain gun sprinklers receive pressurized water.

5) Tees and Elbows

The tees and elbows are PVC materials used for the connection of the pipes and hoses in the rain gun irrigation system.

6) Valves

Valves control the flow of water in the rain gun irrigation system. The valves can be used to direct or stop the flow of water to a zone or section on a farmland. It can also be used to control the flow of water to the rain gun sprinkler.

7) Filters

Filters are used to block or remove the impurities from the water flowing in the irrigation system. The filter is also one of the components of the rain gun irrigation system

The filter is usually installed on the main line or pipe.

8) Hold Down Pegs

The hold-down pegs are stakes used to hold the hoses used for the supply of water in the rain gun irrigation system.

9) Tripod

The tripod is the stand that holds the rain gun in place. The tripod has three legs which it uses to stay put on the soil. The tripod can be bolted to the ground. It can also be cemented to the ground.

The tripod provides the needed height for the rain gun to spray droplets of water.
