Wheat is mainly grown in the northern states of Nigeria. Some of the Wheat producing states in Nigeria include Jigawa, Plateau, Benue, Kano, Adamawa, Kaduna, Borno and Kano.
Wheat only grows in temperate conditions. The northern states in Nigeria are usually cold during the harmattan months of the years.

Jigawa State
Jigawa is one of the largest producers of wheat in Nigeria. Wheat is grown in the cold months of November, December and January in Jigawa state. Jigawa has a lot of wheat farmers like other states in the far north in Nigeria.
Kano State
Like Jigawa state, Kano state also grows a lot of wheat especially in the harmattan months of October, November, December and January.
Borno State
Borno state is a state at the extreme north eastern region of Nigeria. It is one of the largest producers of wheat in Nigeria. Wheat is grown in the cold harmattan months of October – January every year in Borno state.
Adamawa State

Sokoto State
Sokoto state is a state in the extreme north western part of Nigeria. It is also one of the wheat producing states in Nigeria. This state produces a lot of wheat in the months of November, December and January.
Kebbi State
